Strengthening Foundations: Tholar Village Visit
During our Founder’s (Mrs. Kalaivani ) recent visit to Tholar Village, She met with teachers, trainers to discuss the plan for the upcoming month, focusing on improving early literacy skills through phonics-based learning. The visit aimed to review ongoing efforts, identify classroom challenges, and collaboratively plan next steps. Aran agreed to prioritize daily phonics practice, including exercises, and simple reading activities that support the children’s foundational language development. The goal is to make phonics a regular part of classroom routines in a way that is engaging and easy to implement.
To support this, we also outlined focused training sessions for teachers scheduled for next month. These sessions will help teachers confidently deliver phonics instruction using interactive methods and age-appropriate materials. We also discussed regarding simple teaching aids and introducing regular informal assessments to monitor progress. The energy and commitment shown by the teachers were inspiring, and this visit reaffirmed Aran Foundation’s dedication to providing hands-on support and practical strategies that make a real difference in classroom learning.
